Design Wall Monday

Monday is not over, yet.  And I promissed some pictures, so here we go.  This is the quilt on my design wall.  It is a zig zag quilt.  I know that is obvious, LOL...  I cut this out after Christmas. I got the pattern from a magazine add.  This pattern is called Chevy Twist Cuddle.  I cant find which magazine.  I redrew it in EQ7 to get the size I wanted, a twin-ish.  The blocks are cut 4 1/2 X 8 1/2 then sewn together.  The lay out is on point, that is why there is a long unfinished section on the diagonal.  All of the white is the same and has stars in red and blues, the blue and red zig zags are different.  I am really liking this one.  Now if I can get the time to finish it....

Last week I went to our state quilt guild's Spring into Summer retreat.(Quilters of SC)  A great time was had by all.  Here is a top I made for a class I was going to teach at our fall retreat, but not enough folks signed up for it, so This top will be a QOV (quilt of Valor), I do believe.  I am loving this one, so it will be hard to give away, but going to a great cause.  Our state guild challenge this year is QOV'S.  We will be passing these out here in SC to our great service personal.

This next quilt is designed by Lynn from our longarm quilting group here in SC.  This is a challenge quilt to see how many different ways we can quilt it.  The idea is for it to be a Modern Quilt.  I am still not sure what that is??  LOL  Wayne is my quilt holder.  He is making faces at me.  Having fun.

Next is a T-Shirt quilt I just finished for a customer.  Her daughter graduates from high school Friday.  This is the first time I didnt use any sashing or other fabric... Turned out kind of nice, if I must say so my self.  LOL  I used the left over pieces of the shirts to make a mock border... really looks good. The back was a fleece throw the customer had.  So, this was also the first time I quilted with fleece.  NOT really fond of it.. when I trimed it for the binding the fleece fuzzed everywhere, I mean everywhere.  I shook it out outside and that didnt get it all off, so I threw it in the drier on no heat for 10 min. and presto... all the fuzys were gone.

This Post is getting long.  I sure have a lot of catching up to do.  Finially here is my Glyeen Fitzgerald mystery quilt.  Finished, well almost, it is on the quilting frame ready for me to get it quilted tomorrow, I hope.  It is called Garden of Eden.  You can find it on her website  http://www.colourfulstitches.com/

I think I am caught up for now.  I am out of new pictures.  I will try not to get so far behind again... you believe that???  I will always get behind.    Cant get spell check to work, please forgive the miss spelling.  I am terriable at speelin........

Happy Quilting, Vicki

Beautiful finishes. My class didn't make either so I'm going to take Anita's class. Kind of strange as I quilted her class sample...

Keep going with your progress!!!

All your quilts are lovely. So sorry that your class did not make, but how nice you have a QOV to donate. Hope to see you at WhiteOak.
