Stash Report

Nothing new here.  0 in  and 0 out.  Still working on Gyleen's Mystery and Williams boat seats.

Friday was William's 25 birthday, for those of you that dont know, that is our youngest son.  We went to visit him, took him to lunch and Home Depot.  We gave him our old TV that wasnt too old, a 42 inch hdtv.  He had a 13 inch from before high school.  Then after we left him, we stopped at the PX at Ft Jackson and got us a new TV.  It would have been cheeper to by him a new 32 inch tv.  Trust me on this one.  The new one is 55 inchs.  Wayne is happy.  It is Netflix capable, so you know that is coming soon.

Drove right by JoAnns.  I didnt even want to stop. Good for me.  So the stash report is the same as last week.

Design Wall Monday, opps its Tuesday

I did it again.  I am a day late.  Nothing new there.  I am still working on the mystery quilt from Gyleen Fitzgerald.  This is where I am.  The directions are a little further along.  Hopefully I will catch up soon, but I am not worried about it.

There are pieces to go in the blank spaces left on the design wall.  So, I will work on those and wait for the next set of directions.

I have been quilting for others this past week here are pictures of 2 quilts I finishe for customers.  First is the Burnstain Bear jelly roll quilt.  Check out the back on the right, I quilted this quilt with bears.  Looked great.  This is going to a 3 year old boy, I hope he loves it.

The next quilt was a mystery quilt from several years ago that Barbara finish. I quilted this one with purple thread and a floral design.  You can kind of see it in the backing picture below.  This was a fun quilt to finish for Barbara, too.

That's all for now.  Happy Quilting, Vicki

Opps, forgot to tell you about the DesignWall link up on Mondays.  Check it out at www.patchworktimes.com.  Get inspired.

Stash Report

No new fabric in or out this week.  Been busy with doctor appts and getting my Canada friends quilts ready to go back to Canada.  Barbara's are finished, now on to Heathers.  Barbara is leaving this week, got hers done just in time.  Now to get Heathers quilted, I have until the end of April, so hopefully will get hers finished also.  If she doesnt bring more. LOL.... every week she brings me another one.  She is on a UFO clean up.

I have been sewing, working on those hexie flowers.  The next step came in the mystery. I have 3 flowers to add leaves to, the on to the next part.  I am not telling you until I get a few made and can post a picture.
I got one boat seat covered for my son.  If you dont know, I am recovering boat seats from the 1970's . the fabric was very worn and very ugly, orange and brown plaid.  ULCK... the new fabric is marine vinyl and royal blue.  much nicer.  I am not counting the marine vinyl in my stash, cause it would NEVER be in my stash under normal conditions.  for real.

Design Wall Monday???

OOP!  it is Wednesday.  What happened.  Wayne (DH) was in Fla with the camera.  He went with his son on a school trip.  The son is a high school science teacher and every spring he takes 9th graders to the Keys to swim in the barrier reefs and then to Tampa to Bush Gardens and swimming with the manatees.  So, Wayne took the camera, but no pictures.  Next time I will just keep the camera home.

The design wall is empty, cause I have been sewing those pesky pieces together.  This does not go together well.  But here is where I am.  Now I am down to 8 slices to combine to make a star.  Maybe by next Monday???

And here is a flower from the mystery quilt.  The new step is to add diamonds to the hexies to get leaves on the flowers.  Looks really cool., I am loving it.

I am also working on covering some sailboat cushions for our son.  We have the piping made, yes, Wayne is helping.  He cut out all of the pieces and I am doing most of the sewing.  Tho he did sew some of the piping this morning while I was at the doctors office.  I am proud of him.  He used my Viking D1, which he is afraid of, he did great.  Will get pictures when I have something to take a picture of, like a cushion.

Happy Quilting,
Vicki

Design Wall Monday

I missed the Stash Report yesterday.  But that is ok because there were no changes, 0 in 0 out.

So here is the design wall.  I am making progress on this quilt. Yea!!  Now to cut the pieces that fill in the background and start putting it together.  Looking good, in my opinion anyway.

On top of this I took up a mystery quilt with Gyleen Fitzgearld from Colorful Stitches, you can find her here.  .http://www.colourfulstitches.com/    We are to make 12 hexie flowers.  Here is a picture of what I have done so far.  Just a clue, these are BIG, cut from a 5 1/2 inch strip, using her Polygon2 Tool.  These are sewn on the machine and are going together soo fast.  I did all of them this afternoon.  I need 12 before the next step is passed out.  I have the rest of this week.

I also made a red, white and blue 9 patch for the nite guild QOV challenge.  We will each make a block every month and take turns putting them into a quilt.  Our goal is 10 QOV's by the end of the Quilters of South Carolina (QSC) challenge next March.  Read about it here  http://www.quiltersofsc.org/

Happy Quilting,
Vicki
